BIO

Susanne Thurn (* 1974, Bremen) is a visual artist living and working in Hamburg, Germany. She graduated in illustration, print making, and textile design in Hamburg and London. After having worked as an illustrator and designer for many years she started to exclusively focus on her arts practise. Her approach is going back and forth between intuition and contextualising, using the tool of repetition and a constant focus on the line – be it the line drawn with a pencil or the single thread of a piece of textile. Her minimalistic and delicate works explore the relationship between gesture and material, line and body, form and object.
