BODY LOG – WITHIN, 23×31 cm, ink, pencil on paper

WITHIN, 85×300 cm, ink, cotton – threads partially loosened

During my residency at Pavillon Pinneberg, I focussed on investigating the dynamic relationship between interior and exterior spaces. The focus was on the question of what non-verbal knowledge is inscribed in an architectural space and how it can be experienced through physical perception. The starting point for this work was to reflect on what information the genius loci conveys through physical sensations – beyond what the eye alone can grasp. In a first step, drawings were created on site to document these perceptions: BODY LOG. The textile work WITHIN is based on these drawings. They thematise the permeability of space, in particular its vertical opening, and reflect the tension between material limitation and spatial expanse.
